Skin Tags Disappearing

I have a couple of skin tags that cropped up a few years ago after I was diagnosed with diabetes. I have asked on forums before whether keeping blood sugars under control, especially with low carb dieting, would help them go away. It didn't work for me. I just noticed today that the two under my arm are teeny tiny now, less than 5 months out of my Duodenal Switch surgery and with normal blood sugars since the first post-op day. HOOOORAY!!!!! Jeannie, I have noticed that too and I am only 6 weeks post op. I am so happy to see them go because they kind of freaked me out.. LOL Have a great day, Laura

I am so glad to see you post this! I am about 6 wks out, and as my neck gets thinner you can see the area where the skin tags are more. They are so gross! I am hoping that they will shrink/go away. Thanks for the good news! Ginnie

I hope so, too, Ginny. Mine remind me of old people for some reason. Be gone!! Jeanie

I saw thispost and had to respond. I'm not sure if you are aware, but you can have skin tags removed. I had so many of them around my neck area, and refused to put on shirts that revealed my neck. I went to the dermatologist, they numbed my nec, and cut them off. They have never come back since. Hope this is some new and helpful info for you. Blanquie 12 more days to "THE DAY"

Skin tags losing weight???? In re removal. It can be done at home. Take a piece of sewing thread. tie a loop and place it down close to the base of the skin tag. Pull the loop tight and leave it there. It cuts off the circulation and the skin tag dies. For your information, Thelma

One of mine was really large. I had the scissors out a few times, but chickened out. I am thrilled-shickelled titless that they are going away.

Thelma, very true - I use thread all of the time! I didn't know that skin tags were associated with diabetes - wow, learn something new every day! I really HATE all of my tags - I used to go to the doctor and have them removed, but with some insurance, you can only do it once a year, so I started doing it myself. It takes a couple of days when you tie them with thread, but if you clip the thread as close as possible, it isn't even noticeable. Darla
