Hi! I used to have a band and had it removed last June. Has anyone ever heard that having had the band in the past will not let me loose as much weight with bypass surgery as a non banded person would loose???

Most people who have revisions from  previous surgery tend lose a little slower but not always. Most of us with bands didn't lose alot anyway so you are bound to lose more than with the band. With the bypass you will have malabsorption for the first year to 18 mos. so work your hardest to make use of this honeymoon period because after that the malabsorption tends to go away. I know many folks who have revised to bypass and lost all of the weight they wanted to however it is work anyway you look at it. Good luck to you.
