Financing WLS

I've been looking into WLS for a couple weeks now and know that my insurance will not cover the cost. Next step was looking into financing. I was wondering roughly what the average monthly payments look like. If it's somewhere in the range of a new car payment I'm screwed buy I might be able to work with say the insurance on that new car. I used to live in California and was approved for WLS through Kaiser and decided not to follow through... biggest mistake of my life. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Hi chachi1984,

There was a thread on this very subject a few days ago.  Great suggestions. Here is the link:

Up at the top of the screen where it says My OH you will see a little search icon. You can use that to search what you want on OH.

Hi. Is there any way if your primary care physician approves the surgery the insurance company will follow thru? I saw someone on here that was approved by the insurance company but due to their doctor not approving the insurance company would not pay. There may be a way for the doctor to approve and the insurance company to approve the doctor's decision. Just a thought.

Make an appointment to sit down with your HR person and they can go over your policy, if WLS is covered and what are the requirements. They all can be different.  If that is not an option give them a call.

It usually starts with your PCP providing you a letter of medical necessity.  My insurance company had a form letter my PCP had to fill out and once I mailed it in, the process started.  Again, contact your insurance company to find out what your options are
