I saw my Dr. on Friday and yay, my A1C has come down from 14 to 8.3 in 6 weeks.

(found out during my first labs I was undiagnosed diabetic)

I met with the surgeon again and we went over questions I had. They had me schedule an office visit for 4 weeks out but said they'd probably be calling to cancel that and providing me with a date. For some reason I had always assumed I would get a date while I was there in the office .. but once I thought about it, they need to submit to insurance, so how could a date be given?

I was just curious and wanted to ask what others experienced.. thanks!

I got my date about a week after my insurance approval and my insurance took about 1.5 weeks to approve. It was a short easy process for me but some have a more difficult time with it. Good luck and best wishes!

I got my date months before insurance approval.  In fact I think it was a week after the initial consult.  The scheduler called me and asked me what day would work for me.  LOL

Thank you for replying .. I ended up calling because the more I thought about the conversation, the more confused I was as to what the woman meant.  I'm glad I did as the regular girl was on vacation. I go back in two weeks and they'll schedule the pre-op class and date then she said.
