I was supposed to have had mine removed 4 years ago but due to other medical issues I put it off fast forward to today and my bloodwork says I'm anemic and my blood counts are below normal. So it looks like I can't put it off any longer. Just wanting some reassurance that the surgery is as easy as WebMD states. Can I literally go in in the morning and be fine that afternoon? I'm very active in my church and have a 9 year old. Just looking for the truth. Also wondering if it "my spleen" has and/or had anything to do with my weight gain.

Many surgeries are outpatient now.  You will probably be tired that afternoon and also may have some lifting restrictions for a while.  I had disk compression surgery in August and was able to drive the next day.

I was in less than 36 hours.  However, remember you are having MAJOR surgery.  We don't think of it has a big deal because it's laproscopic, but nonetheless it's major surgery.   You will be pumped with same anesthisia the same as they would put into you for heart surgery.   The recovery is the same.  Everyone is diff.   Yes, I was painless about 3 days post op,then lived on liquids for 2 weeks.  You will be tired.   Oh and did I mention..well worth it!
