I would love to see a forum for positive upbeat posts. I respect that people may be having a bad experience and need advise. I'm wondering if there is a forum that is upbeat and positive? I would love to read and share positive motivational posts about weight loss.

I see you are having the lapband in October. In that case, you'll need the full on Unicorns, Rainbows and Leprechaun group. I am positively overjoyed to see how it goes.

They're interspersed with all the other posts.  I think this is good, because I want to see the entire range of experience, not just the happy stories that will give me a flawed view of what I'm getting in to.

I'd feel this way even more so if I was considering the lap band :/

Hi Treadmillwalker

We are sorry if you feel you had a bad experience here on the forums.  We encourage everyone to post and some do so with more passion than others, or perhaps a style you don't care for.  Example I have had pictures posted of me as a unicorn with rainbows, (we won't note from where)   And others are more in your face.

If there are members you don't care to interact with we suggest you utilize our "block" feature we have provided.   Posts that you feel violates our Terms of Services, please report it and the moderators will review.

We hope you continue to participate in our community as we have a lot to offer.  I personally have been here for 12 years

Regards,

Kathy

Kathy, maybe OH can help her set up a group that she can control the tone of the conversation and only allow happy upbeat stories?  I am sure a lot of people would like that, right?

If you're choosing the Lap Band, you're going to need a forum with honesty. My advice is that you hear all... good, bad, and ugly... so you can be truly informed about the decision you're making.

If you want upbeat and motivational posts about weight loss, maybe visit Pinterest. There is one other forum, the name of which I won't mention here. It's just rampant with misinformation disguised as "upbeat" and "positive advice." I'm pretty sure a quick Google search would bring it up.

Was that too blunt? It's true, though!    The amount of misinformation disguised as "support" is just dangerous. But it's certainly more "upbeat!" If you end up with complications, the posters won't hesitate to let you know all the things you must have done wrong.
