I had two thirds of a cookie today

I at was a social event and I knew that it was well within my carb goals so I was okay with it. I have tried other cookies and been okay. They are not a trigger food for me by any means. The taste was fine but I'm fairly certain that they were made with everything labeled as poison under the kitchen sink. At least that's what my body seem to think. For the next 2 hours I was horribly sick, my nose was running like a faucet, I was glued to the toilet, sweating profusely all while wishing that I hadn't been so stupid. Lesson freaking learned!

Your new tummy doesn't like the sugar, I'm betting!

Apparently it is like a Gremlin, don't get it wet or feed it after midnight. In my case it is don't get angry or feed it a cookie!

I almost wish that happened to me as cookies can be a trigger food for me and I can eat them (though more than one will make me feel a little uncomfortable later, it isn't enough to turn me off on them).

Nothing like Negative Reinforcement to help remind us to stay on track!

I am in the boat with the other 'wishers' that it would happen to me too!

I did have a pretty bad RH episode, and a couple of smaller RH episodes here lately to help remind me, but I'm not sure it was enough to say I'll never find myself doing that again (just being honest).

Hope you are feeling better!

This was the first store bought cookie that I tried. I wonder if that had anything to do with it? I've had small amounts of frozen custard (wife's birthday) without issue. Her peanut butter cookies have a lot of sugar in them and I did fine. I only had half of one of those. I'm not trying to justify the choice I'm just wondering if preservatives were what kicked my butt. I don't buy anything that comes in a box and rarely do I use anything that comes in a can, maybe once a month. I don't even use shredded cheese.

So funny that before WLS I would never remember if I at a cookie, let alone two thirds of a cookie! Funny how things change after surgery. You were obviously very mindful of what you ate, which is a step in the right direction. Good luck

I ate half a cookie that an adorable little lady gave me. She is a woman with dementia and my soft spot for the elderly is too soft so I agreed. I regretted half that cookie. I was sick and miserable and it didn't even taste good. I knew it would make me sick though. I am a former pastry and candy addict. No more. No more ...
