Finally found a protein drink!!!

So I've developed an intolerance to protein shakes. Literally, they make me gag. I was just on here not long ago cheering someone on who was going through the same thing, and it has happened to me. I thought premier wasn't too bad in the beginning, and now all of the sudden I gag/dry heave at just the smell of it. I've tried three others and the same thing. All the while I'm having to get my protein through food which is upping my daily caloric intake.

Today I went on a mission to find a protein drink. I went to GNC and bought a 12 pack of clear protein drinks (isopure) in lemonade flavor. They have 40 grams of protein each. If I can get half in per day I would really be doing something. By itself it's okay, but not great. I mixed about a quarter in with a glass of water, and it tastes great. Very tolerable. Much more light and refreshing . Just thought I'd share with folks. This has definitely solved my issue. They aren't cheap (45 bucks per 12 pack), but I figure I can stretch it out by drinking half a day.

No problem. I enjoy it, and want to pay it forward to the folks that have been so helpful to me on this forum.

I made the mistake of buying a case of Isopure pre-surgery but after surgery I couldn't stand the taste, even watered down. I tried many flavors post-op and none were palatable to me. Glad they're working for you!

I wonder if the protein shake we start with just becomes disgusting after awhile. The lemonade one has been by far the most palatable (only if watered down and with ice).

Syntrax Nectar makes 17 flavors including a lemonade. You may want to try the sampler pack and see if there are flavors that you like. I like the ice tea, lemonade, grape, cappuccino and especially the fuzzy navel. They are much cheaper.

I bought them. While they are better than premier I can stand the taste of them either. Thanks though!

Glad you found something that works for you. When I went through a phase of not being able to stomach the protein shakes I found Kroger carb master milk. It has something like 11 grams protein per cup and they have both chocolate and vanilla I think. The calories and carbs were not bad.

I like the isopure stuff - we have some of the zero carb in chocolate that's quite yummy. I can't stand the premier protein drinks anymore...especially the banana (gag). They weren't bad, I am just very very tired of them!
