I tried. I really tried.

If you're suggesting medicinal marijuana to treat nausea, I would be just a wee bit concerned about the "munchies" making the liquid diet even more difficult.

Terrible suggestion.

It was not a terrible suggestion. CBD, which is the non-psychoactive form of marijuana that is used medicinally, is helpful for nausea & vomiting; it does not cause the munchies. It is THC which causes the munchies and gets people high.

I was on Marinol during my chemo/radiation and it did, occasionally cause "munchies". I think that was because after you no longer feel nauseated, you want to eat. Especially when your comfort source is food.

I've read about Marinol being used to increase appetite in cancer patients.

My husband also used Marinol (an Rx cannabinoid designed to increase appetite for cancer patients). He found it to be effective for that. But not to the point of over-eating or binging. It just increased his interest in food and increased his calorie intake by (I'm estimating) 25%).

Isopure was a life saver for me. I couldn't tolerate protein shakes either. I tried several. Isopure is a clear protein drink. So far I've had fruit punch, lemonade, and orange. All tolerable, especially if really cold. It's about 40 bucks a 12 pack though. I purchased mine at GNC.
