So I quickly googled it, but my brain is in a fog, and I have an appointment with my PCP this afternoon... Just wanna make sure, should I test positive for the flu, is it ok for RNYers to take?

I really hope it's not what I have, but damn do I feel like ****

I hope you feel better Pammie. I hope it is not the flu. My oldest daughter (16) had been home the last two days with a head cold and today coughing a lot. No fever or body aches so I am hoping just a cold. Not going to pediatrician unless we have to at this point as the germs sky high there right now.

I am not sure about tamaflu. I have taken lots of antibiotics over the years.

Feel better soon.

Tamiflu is an antiviral drug, not an NSAID. It should be fine-- but check with a doctor or pharmacist first.

Tamiflu may help a person that has the following Flu SX:

  1. body aches/headaches
  2. fever >101
  3. painful cough
  4. sudden onset of symptoms

Yes, it is okay for RNY patient. Both my husband and I are PO and our doctor knows of our surgery and is a supporter of our continued health with RNY.

I too had the brain fog . I took tamiflu, just stopped taking it and am attacking the inevitable secondary bacterial infection. ( read green or yellow snot and coughing) with natural antibacterials - probiotics, ginger, roasted garlic. Usually this clears it all for me.

I?m very scared to take both antiviral and antibiotics- almost every flu related death involves the combination of the two extremely serious drugs.

Ill also point out that almost every patient that died re-entered society ( went to work or school) way too early often while actually on these body-devastating and ( immune system debilitating ) hugely serious drugs.

Not only were they irresponsibly infecting other people they also managed to let their compromised vulnerable immune systems get exposed to other strains of the same disease - kind of like when HIV patients in the early days of AIDS non-protected sexed with each other. They died like flies. Look it up.
