Failure

I stumbled across protein shakes made by FairLife, called Core Power. And they are probably the best pre-packaged protein shakes I've ever had. So far, I've only been able to find them at Wegman's.

I was excited because I love my Fairlife milk, but boy howdy, that is a lot of sugar. Does it taste really good? Like a whole lot better than Premier Protein, Or Syntrax Nectar?

I thought it was a lot of sugar too. My NUT looked it up, and she didn't seem too phased. I'm not sure about the sugar in the other flavors. They also have one that's a whopping 42 grams of protein. I'm going to Wegman's tomorrow, so I'll check them all out and let you know.

That's a lot of sugar and carbs for a protein shake. If I eat more than 13 grams of sugar in one sitting, I have dumping syndrome. Most WLS peeps keep there daily carb total below 40gms while losing weight. This shake has 20gms of carbs. That would be half the amount allowed for the entire day.

Heard some good comments about Core Power as well.

That's wayyyy too much sugar. The best rule of thumb is no more than 5 grams in a sitting.

Newbies having 3 or 4 shakes in a day would be getting 60 to 80 grams if sur per day. Crazy.

You need protein shakes not carb, protein, fat shakes.

I keep my daily sugar grams under 30, which mainly come from dairy so 19 for one shake is definitely way too much for me.

The second ingredient is "cane sugar" so to me this does mean "failure". There are so many bad NUT's out there so it does not surprise me that yours was not phased by this

Looking at your profile, you revised to the DS about a month ago. I would be really leery of excess sugar. It can lead to gas and diarrhea (even with my RNY it can, but I think the DS is even more susceptible).

Keep looking for a better shake with less sugar.

Agreed with the other commentors. During the honeymoon phase, I stuck to under 25g carbs per DAY. My surgeon's instructions also say that you can't have anything with sugar in the first 3 ingredients, so these would have been right out.
