Hi

I came across an ad for these mattresses that are suppose to hold up to 2, 500 pound persons and last. Has anyone heard of Big Fig Mattresses? Reading some of the reviews it sounds like it may be a good product?

I haven't heard anything about it, but looking at the photo made me wonder about a few things. I don't see how a SMO person could even get on a bed that high and if he/she could, I don't think that frame would hold a really heavy weight. I guess if you took away the frame and put the box springs and mattress on the floor, it would work. I'd want to know what the box springs are made with to be sure they could hold the weight. I'm probably being over analytical...

Here is the link to the site. I did google for reviews and it seems they are good. My husband and I went through mattresses like underwear. This would be great if it's as good as it sounds.

I checked out the link you sent. It really does sound good. I'd need to see it and feel it.

It depends on what those two 500 pound people were doing on the mattress.

I think any mattress can support people that big. I was about 500 pounds. I think the real issue is how comfortable it would be for people that size.

I don't agree. Not any mattress is suitable for a heavy person. And not any mattress provide a good support for your spine. You need to choose wisely if you don't want to buy a new mattress every year.
We had a hard time trying to find something suitable for my brother. Gladly I found some useful reviews like this. From what I know now, never buy something if it doesn't have a test period. Been there(

The same holds true for anyone. There are hundreds of different mattresses available to suit a variety of needs. I'm just nit convinced that we need bariatric mattresses any more than we need bariatric vitamins. There are regular varieties of both that work just fine for us.

I have not heard about that product. However, I was searching for a mattress for heavy people that will be suitable for my brother and I found some useful review that helped.
