problems with diet due to allergies

I am just starting this process and already having problems.

I am allergic to all artificial sweeteners including stevia (the only sweeteners I have ever been able to tolerate are cane/beet sugar, honey, real maple syrup & molasses).

I am also allergic to soy.

I found a whey powder that uses monk fruit to sweeten but don't know if it meets the proper criteria.

I am ready to give up and haven't even started...

I had RNY, lost 120lb and remained healthy for 14+ years without ever drinking a protein shake.

It's harder work, but absolutely possible.

There are unsweetened protein powders -- https://www.amazon.com/NAKED-WHEY-Grass-Protein-Powder/dp/B0 0NBDMN8U/

This is just one example. You can add them to things like milk or broth.

Thanks..

Any thoughts on the sweetener thing?

And is it normal to be hungry (like tummy growling hungry) and nauseated at the same time?

I feel like I am not going to make it through the day much less a lifetime...

What are you eating? Where are you in the process? Have you talked with a surgeon? More information is required to give you any sort of useful advice.

I have just started.

I have my second appointment w/my Dr. next week.

I don't have high bp, heart issues, diabetes or high cholesterol.

I have epilepsy and the meds for that are part of the weight problem.

The Dr. has be doing a "sandwich" plan to lose the required 10%.

I haven't had coffee or milk since my first appt. jus****er and broth.

I am very tired and very cranky. lol

I am used to going to the dr for my wellness checks etc (maybe once or twice a year) all the hoop jumping for this is making me very tired of drs very fast.

Water and broth not sure why they came through the way they did.

As far as eating cut all carbs, except beans. The food list says I can have those. chicken, eggs, some pork veggies.

I was told no root veggies, bread, crackers, etc.

I feel like I am on an extreme Atkins and when I did that I was hungry all the time too.

A little bit of carbs like beans will make you hungrier than no carbs.

Are you allowed dairy like Greek yogurt?

When you cut all starchy carbs - you usually get a few from veggies and dairy... but then everything else is game- all meats, fish, bacon, fats etc.

I don't consume artificial sweeteners and almost NEVER eat soy and haven't found eating post-WLS difficult.

I had gastric bypass 18 months ago and am currently below goal weight. You can do this!
