A friend who also had VSG surgery told me about this. I was wondering if anyone had tried this product yet. It is supposed to count your calories as you eat (through your skin). Great idea if it actually works!

I am very skeptical of its ability to count calories by (supposedly) using electricity to monitor changes in blood glucose. If it could do this accurately, it would be a game-changer for many, especially folks with diabetes, and the product would be far more popular.

From this review, it looks like the estimates could be off by as much as 20%, which is far too wide a margin of error to be useful, in my opinion.

Fraud. Two people can eat exactly the same meal, with exactly the same calories, and one will have blood glucose that moves very little, while the other can have BG that goes through the roof. And everything in between. This gadget would count wildly different calorie intakes for all those people.

There really isn't a magic gadget. I love my Fitbit -- it helps keep my activity up on days I otherwise would be more sedentary. But the calories counts it gives me, I just ignore. They aren't close to being right.

Actually, 20% doesn't seem too bad when you consider that the FDA allows food manufacturers by up to 20% in either direction (not to mention that it relies on the honor system!). So if this is true, you may get just as accurate of a reading as relying on food labels.

I wouldn't use it...apparently it can take a day or more for it to figure out your calorie consumption, which in my book is useless. It's accuracy is questionable as well...I'll pass.

Thank you for your input everyone. It sounded too good to be true. I will stick to measuring and weighing for the foreseeable future.
