Brittany Runs a Marathon

Hi all!

I got to see Brittany Runs a Marathon yesterday. I had a lot of trepidation going into it. I was worried it would be full of fat shaming and have the typical plot of "screwed up woman loses weight and her life is now perfect." It was neither of those things.

It felt very real and honest to me. A number of the conversations Brittany had with non-runners felt like they could have been pulled verbatim from conversations I've had.

I don't like recommending things, so I'll just say that I'm really glad I saw this - you might be glad to see it too!

P.S. I haven't been around much since I moved at the beginning of August. While the move was expected, the speed at which everything came together and needed to happen was NOT expected.

Thanks for the review. I had similar fears. NIce to know they were unfounded.

Thanks! Nice to be seen :)

I'm still adjusting to life post-move. It's amazing how much different life is when it doesn't take a minimum of 30 minutes to get anywhere and when we're able to eat dinner at 6pm instead of 8pm due to commutes.

I also have an "office" area in our new place and I find that I'm spending a lot less non-school time on the computer as a result. It's surprisingly really lovely - I've picked up cross stitching again, after neglecting it for at least a decade!

It's funny, a side effect of actually having an "office" space in our new home is that I don't spend as much non-school time on the computer anymore. That's been surprisingly lovely!

I used to cross stitch a lot, before I got a laptop to glue to my lap, and I've started stitching again. Pretty sure it's been at least 10 years since I stitched last. I make myself stop working in the afternoon and try to get in an hour of stitching and podcast-listening before making dinner. I think this has been positive for my mental health!

That sounds FABULOUS !!! I have so many unfinished projects. I can sit, and READ, or hours -totally tune out the world - but can't seem to do other projects, that I used to love, almost as much as reading

Pictures, of your art? Please????

I loved it and spent a good portion of it in tears. I feel like it really covered what it feels like to live in a larger body and how you're treated and also what it feels like to fall in love with running.

Yes :D And how it can be really complicated to explain that love to people who don't run.
