Off topic: Do you wear a mask when you go out in public?

I don't wear one when I walk my dog, but I have one in my pocket just in case I have to get near anyone.

I haven't been inside a store since the beginning of March because we are all vulnerable in our house.

Every time I see someone without a mask I think they're a giant asshole.

If I have lived for 4, nearly 5 months without going near people, then any inability to wear a mask would let you do that also, so I don't want to hear about anyone's "breathing problems". Try being on a ventilator and see how your breathing problems are then!

I have a son with severe autism who won't wear a mask - he's had zero interaction with anyone other than family for this reason.

I've been monitoring what the experts say about masks since the news about COVID-19 first came out. I started wearing a mask as soon as the experts began saying it might be a good idea.

I wear a mask whenever I am likely to encounter people, especially indoors.

Outdoors, I don't wear a mask unless I'm likely to get close to people. For example, I would wear a mask walking down a busy street, but not walking in the local park (which is never crowded). The research seems to indicate that there's little risk outdoors, as long people keep the recommended distance apart.

I happily wear a mask to protect other people. I also feel the mask reminds others to keep the recommended distance. The only thing that bothers me about wearing a mask is that people can't see my facial expression. I do miss being able to see people smile. Seeing a nice smile can really brighten my day. I should draw a smile on my mask!

I do understand that there are some people for whom a mask isn't practical. People with breathing issues for example, or people with sensory difficulties (e.g., some children with autism).

By the way, a few months ago I mentioned on here that I thought I might have had the coronavirus. However, my symptoms were very mild, and since I didn't have a fever, I wasn't eligible for testing. I have since learned that my neighbours in the apartments on either side of me were ill at the same time, were tested and confirmed to have it. So that increases my suspicions that what I had was indeed COVID-19.

I have been wearing a mask and gloves since they started reporting about the Corvid-19 at the end of February. I remember seeing folks in China wearing them and thinking something is up better start wearing them also. Yea I did get some crazy looks at the grocery store, but to me better to be safe than sorry.

I only go to work and then home. Once a week run to get groceries, gas, and critter food if needed. My husband has a few health issues so I don't want to expose him to anything or anyone else.

Now if I am outside at my house no I do not wear a mask. If someone comes to purchase some plants or veggies then a mask is required by both parties. Honestly I just try and stay the heck away from people. Not all that crazy about the human race anyways.

I have been wearing a mask at work and at stores since that crap started.
I don't like when people ignore that. I learned how to breath when I wear a mask and glasses so my glasses don't get foggy.

Not everyone is like that. Against my better judgement we had a dinner with my men parents on Sunday. (Fathers day). I cooked and brought the food, so we would not get take-out. We spent 3 hours in their house, unfortunately not wearing masks. As we found out today, Keith step sister tested positive for covid-19, and they interacted with her during the time she had the infection. If they got it - we were exposed. I hope they get the test and would test negative. I HOPE they get tested.

OMG! I hope no one else gets it! If that women felt sick it was irresponsible of them to attend! Good luck! I haven't seen my two oldest grandsons because I'm not willing to put them or the extended family they live with including a great grandmother who is 90 and in poor health. I have to go out on occasions so just want them to be safe. My daughter doesn't like it because her dad shows up, which is stupid because he works with the public and every time he shows up at their house he puts them at risk, and he doesn't wear a mask while visiting. I won't do that!

Looks like he (her father) really is lucking common sense...and he is careless...

Lets hope we all stay safe.

Yes the dad has always lacked common sense! His brother in law got Covid19 and died from it and my daughters dad snd his wife went dancing every weekend with the one that died and his wife. So her dad really really put my daughter and her extended family at great risk.

My manager is from Taiwan. We talked about this in a meeting this week. Taiwan wa**** very hard by SARS in 2003. In Taiwan, wearing a mask is not a choice. You get arrested if caught in public without one.

In Taiwan they did NOT have a lockdown and did not close their schools. They required all students to wear a mask and they put partitions between desks.

Taiwan has now gone over two months with zero new cases.

Maybe Americans have too much freedom for our own good.

If everyone wore a mask, washed their hands, and observed social distancing, the virus would be gone by now. Instead we have people walking around with no mask and considering it their right. To me they are as dirty as if they were walking around without pants and defecating at will. They are spreading their germs though their mouth and nose.
