In the beginning stages of taking my health back but I am also very nervous about it all. Have any of you regretted having surgery or the kind of surgery you had?

I've never regretted it for one second and I'm glad I got RNY because I see too many revisions of the sleeve.

I have two siblings that have had the RNY and they are happy with their decision but I have read posts in the past where others have had regrets. I have been putting off taking the steps to move forward but have started now.

It's common for people to go through a temporary period where they regret having the surgery. Mine was right after surgery and was gone the next morning. Since then, I haven't regretted it for a moment.

If, after surgery, you find yourself regretting it, it doesn't mean you've made a mistake. The feeling will almost certainly pass. After any surgery, or illness, it's not uncommon to feel a little depressed. Forewarned is forearmed.

That makes sense. I am sure I will be wondering what the heck I've done initially too.

My only regret is that I wish I had done counseling before during and after. It would of saved me a bit of mental strife.

I do not regret surgery(the only time I have is when I wish I could take ibuprofen for my back issue). Not a bit really. I was on 5 shots of insulin and I no longer am. I still have a lot of work to do.

counseling is a huge thing and I'm taking care of it now.

My surgeon requires counseling throughout the whole process. I am dreading it to be honest but I am sure I will be happy about it later. Glad you are getting the counseling now and no more insulin is great!

I had the lapband in 2008 and then revision surgery in 2012 for the gastric sleeve. Have been very happy with the gastric sleeve overall. :)
