totally up to you. Some of us tell; others don't. I only told my immediate family and my close friends at first.

It's such a very personal decision. I know of people that have never told their own family about their surgery and of others who don't mind shouting it out to the world. I for one have been grateful to those that are very public about their weight loss journey because I continue to learn so much and to be inspired.

Your decision. I tell everyone. I also have friends who have had WLS and they have told no one. One of my dearest friends I met through my local WLS surgeon and support group. She has never told anyone (except for her immediate family) and I've had to "lie" about how we met - can't tell anyone we met through WLS. I'm just respecting her wishes.

Who would you be telling and why would it be anyone's business but your own?

Truthfully, its no ones business. You're doing this for your health. If someone asks you what are you doing to lose weight, you just tell them you're watching your food intake.....which you are!

If people ask about my weight loss, especially out of concern, I tell them.
