There were many wonderful moments after WLS, but the one I'm most proud of was one year after my WLS I walked in the Bloomsday race. I was able to walk the over 7 miles, up hill and down, and still feel energized afterwards. Hurray for a blessed life after WLS

Thank you,

Lori VanDusen

Hi Lori,

I also live in Spokane! I have never done Bloomsday but it is on my list for this year.

So many things I wouldn't have tried pre WLS but three that stand out

1) climbing to the crows nest when we did a tall ship cruise

2) fitting up a very narrow crevice that I would not have gotten through before on a hike in Utah

3) zip lining

My husband and I went to Talladega Motor Speedway for a race. We flew from TX to AL and it was the first time in many years I was able to buckle my seatbelt without an extender! I was able to visit my hometown in AL, do a lot of walking without severe pain, and see cousins. In the family photo, I was no longer the largest member! Great visit and very uplifting emotionally. ??

Just hiking.

All of the little things that I felt too heavy and sluggish to complete or do.

An adventure I am looking forward to and hope to do in 2022 is going parasailing in the bahamas. I have lost enough right now but with covid we haven't traveled out of the us yet but hopefully will this coming year.
