Topic: RE: When did you feel normal?

Unless you think it something that could be medical, in which you should get to your doctor right away I wouldn't worry too much.

Truth is, what you have just done is completely not "normal"... everyone is different but universally I think everyone's body is smart enough to realize something major has changed.. your body will fight some of it in most cases... In my case it eventually realize that it was going to lose the fight and might as well play along.

I have my revision surgery three weeks ago and I don't feel anywhere near normal yet. Actually, every time I have a day where I actually do feel normal it seems to be followed by two days of just other party chaos.

Unless you think it's a medical emergency, I was just being patient, being tough, and letting your body know that this is the new normal and it should get used to it.

YES! Had to change my whole shorts and T-shirt daily routine... and it's not so manly having to have a nice fluffy one blanket cold up on the couch at night either ha ha

That's me! I have problems falling asleep and staying asleep both most nights. Ill ask my doctor about the quetiapine. Maybe that would help me as well.

I do take 10mg of the fast dissolve melatonin but just can't stay asleep!

I am a night owl too! I have problems falling asleep and most often don't sleep before 1am. I have tried to stay away from my computer after 10pm because I was told that might be helpful. I take 10mg of melatonin when I take anything but still only sleep a couple of hours or so and then I am awake again.

I never thought of that. I love broth and Jello would be great when I crave a fruity drink. Thanks.

Topic: RE: My struggles - 1 week post op

Hey my friend! First don't be so hard on yourself you're gonna do great!!(: It takes time for your body to adjust. I to struggled in the beginning with fluid intake and constipation. What works for me is I have a warm beverage in the a.m. with benifiber. It did not work instantly it took time. To start I would take stool softeners and magnesium in the p.m. I am 6mo post and just finally getting regular. Your body is going thru a big change but it is a great change! You'll feel better snd better as time goes on. Oh and the fluid thing?! That to will take time, I'm still not up to all the liquid. But just like with the BM issue you'll figure out what works for you. Hang in there you're success in the making!!

I get a good 8 plus cups of water in every other day and in between I get 4-6 cups. Is that okay? Do you count coffee or tea as water intake? I have not.

Other then water, milks, tea, and coffee, what else is healthy and safe to drink?

  1. protein shakes are considered liquid as well as broth, jello and sugar free popsicles.
Even if you are past the liquid stage you can use those to increase your intake.
