Happy post Super Bowl everyone!

Loved, loved Lady Gaga's performance! I stayed on plan for the day. I hosted a potluck, and there was a good mix of wls friendly choices, but not so many that I'd be tempted to over do it.

im far enough under my 267 goal to consider it in the bag! Next is 253, which will be 125 down. My losses are still fine, but definitely slowed over the past three weeks. I don't know if it's realistic anymore, but I'd like to get under 253 before March 1, my next appointment with my NP. Totally arbitrary, I just want to see how close I can get.

After that, my next one is 232. My lowest adult weight(and a big chunk of my teen years). Once I cross that threshold , I'm officially in uncharted waters...

Hope you all had a great week!

My weight has been bonking around 170 for weeks.  I know why of course.  I'm having a hard time figuring out eating for this new term so I eat too many meals on the road and I've been eating too many protein bars for those meals.  I finally realized this was happening, and how many meals I'd need to eat at school, and have taken steps to actually PLAN meals to eat instead of just grabbing a bar.

Hello everyone! Another week in the books. The scale moved a little again and I reached the 260's so that felt good. I've been really pushing myself with the exercise and I'm feeling good. I can be a bit of a numbers person so over the weekend when I got a '250 miles walked badge' on my Fitbit and it got me thinking about how far that is and what step goals I might make for myself. Sooo it's pretty lofty but I figured out there are approximately 2000 steps in a mile and some of my very favourite people in the world live 2670 miles away from me in Maple Ridge BC so I've set myself a target of virtually walking there by the end of the year. As I said it's a lofty goal as it works out to an average of 14000+ steps a day but hey even if I came up short it would be a great accomplishment.

My birthday also falls on my 5 month mark (April 21) so I have also given myself the goal of getting under 250 by then. I know time limited goals aren't necessarily the best but it's really just a random/I think I can do it target. Reaching it would mean I lost 60 lbs in 5 months post op which would be exciting but once again even coming close would be cool.

I did better with my eating last week. One of the boards i follow someone had a saying for food addiction and it hit home with me. Ive been using it when i go shopping not to buy unhealthy foods.

Would you mind sharing it? I've been feeling lately like I miss shopping for food far more than makes sense. I'm not struggling with the diet at all right now but I strangely miss grocery shopping. Obviously I still do it but it's a lot less.

She compared herion to food addiction. Just a little herion could kill you so food will slowly kill you.

I posted here briefly awhile ago but need to start doing it again.  I think I want to stop where I'm at.  I'm at a 23-24 BMI and my PCP told me not to go under 23 (she likes her "older" patients - which would be me - in the 23-27 range, since she says they tend to be healthier than the skinny minnies).  I'm also happy where I'm at - my face is going to start looking pretty bad if I lose much more.

For awhile I wanted to drop another 10 lbs or so so I'd have some "cushion" in case I rebound, but in order to do that I'd probably have to drop below 1000 kcal a day again - not sure I want to do that, and I know if I dropped the weight and then went back to eating my current 1200-1400 kcal, I'd just gain it back again.  1200-1400 seems really comfortable for me right now.  I'm just hoping I can continue eating that and manage to maintain in the 140s  (150 is my five-alarm limit - although my PCP said I can even make that 160 if I want to - but I like 150 better).  Hope I can do this!!!  I know it's going to take a lot of work!!

anyway, here are my stats:

HW:  372

SW:   316

LW:   144.4

TW:   145.6

I hate being up a pound from last week, but evidently slight fluctuations (a couple of pounds up or down) is the way maintenance works.  I'm SO not used to this mindset after being in major weight loss mode the last three years!!!

I hope you make it a regular habit to post here too! As you've seen, there are a few at maintenance who do. I think there's much to share and learn from each other.

There's so much info out there about  Pre op, and losing phases, but maintenance is still a bit of a mystery....
