Does bigger mean more issues in WLS?

The weight itself is a big strain on our bodies. While our BMI isn't the only factor in how difficult the surgery is going to be .. we can't ignore that it isn't going to be a factor. That being said ... at the time of my surgery my BMI was 47.7 .. not exactly a featherweight .. but I think I sailed right through my surgery and recovery.

I think a bigger factor might be co-morbidities. Diabetes is going to slow healing, heart problems like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, breathing issues like sleep apnea ... I think those are bigger hurdles than just the extra weight. I had none of those.

If you fall down you just have to get back up.
