Hi, Di!   Yep, I'm a normal weight!!!!  Gained 24 pounds in the last year.  Had the ileus 1 year ago, meaning the tatas are having their one year birthday on Wednesday LOL!   I was 122 YIKES after that!   I was scared ****less to post that number here on the board, although I know Sharon and Kimmer are both about as tall and me and got down in the same range.  Now, I'm right were I belong.  That's probably why I'm looking into a butt lift or LBL with auto augmentation.  I have this nice body except the bootie (or lack thereof) and the flappy upper thighs.  I see you are below goal.  I FINALLY have the good/carbs, bad/carbs thing down, at least for me.  Fruits and veggies are GOOD!  Pasta, donuts (Oh how they kill me), and plain white flour products are not so good.  But I can eat a 6" sub at Subway on whole wheat no problems.  It seems the ratio of carbs to protein to fat make a difference.  I can also eat a double hamburger or a Big Mac from McDonald's, but don't be adding fries to that.    I think the hardest part of the DS was learning to eat fat.  Mayo, olive oil, real butter, whole fat cottage cheese, etc.  It really does make my skin, hair, nails less dry and I don't seem to have a problem with getting diarrhea from it.  Best of luck on you PS.  I'm looking into seeing LoMonoco about a new butt.  I loved my PS here in Chicago who did my beautiful boobs and Tummy Tuck, but he isn't comfortable doing the butt, so I have to start looking into the big name WLS PS doctors I guess.  Be sure and stay in touch and let me know what you find out!

Karen, I'm so sorry that anyone would be so cruel...especially to you--you're always so nice to everyone. She's someone I blocked a long time ago, and I would suggest that you do the same thing. I know she's really popular on the other board because she's really good at playing "nice" and acting as though she's always the one being attacked; but I've seen so much nastiness from her that it makes me ill to even see one of her posts. There are some RNYers who are so defensive of the RNY that they will lash out at anyone for whom it didn't work. They don't care who they hurt or stomp on in the process. It's heart-breaking to read all the RNYers who are regaining their weight, and when they turn to this site for support, they are attacked for not "trying hard enough". If I had the RNY and started regaining my weight, the RNY board is the LAST place on earth I would dare post. As if we didn't all go through this during our countless diets in the past! (That's like an old Weigh****chers customer calling me up and chiding me for having surgery when I should have just stuck to the Weigh****chers plan. I find it rather ironic that someone who had to have surgery can now feel as though she has a right to attack someone in exactly the same way that surgery opponents attack RNYers--that they shouldn't need surgery if they would just eat how they're supposed to eat.) On the other hand, it's important that pre-ops are aware that they can gain all of their weight back if they choose to get the RNY. People who have struggled with the RNY and require revisions are important to this site so that pre-ops can see that side of the picture as well. I personally believe that people who feel a need to attack and criticize others are simply terrified of the regain risks themselves. Rather than get angry (as frustrating as it is for me to see someone as nice as you receiving nasty pms), I actually feel truly sad about it. Knowing that 51% of these most ardent RNYers will actually find themselves in the exact same situation, while it would be the perfect karma for the nastiness that some of them have spewed to kind-hearted people like you, is actually quite upsetting. Thinking about it that way just makes me feel sorry for them (her). Do the best that you can, Karen, but I believe that what you truly need is a revision. The RNY failed you. I don't care what anyone else tries to tell you. I've said it before, but using the arguments of RNYers, Weigh****chers also has a 100% success rate, because the only people who don't lose the weight are the people who stop following the program. Well guess what? Obviously they DON'T have 100% success rate, because the degree to which people are able to adhere to the program IS an important factor in how well it works. You deserve a procedure that allows you to lose weight and be healthy. I hope that you can get a revision. But in the meantime, make sure you block that person because I guess she must be reading all about what you eat? (which is kind of creepy). And I'm sure you don't need someone reading about what you eat and sending you nasty pms about it. For your own sanity, keep your posts private from those kind of people.

""On the other hand, it's important that pre-ops are aware that they can gain all of their weight back if they choose to get the RNY""" It's b.s. like this that will continue to get reactions from people, Dreamy, on this particular point, you really don't know what you're talking about, and I say that respectfully, as you've made valid points elsewhere - I'm not here to snark, but on this point, you need to be enlightened.  And no, it's not a "defense" nor is there a supposed "fear of regain" prompting this reaction, because I have my act together enough to know I have to follow the protocol for my surgery to ward it off just as you do.  You aren't a medical professional - yet you're doling out medical advice.  "What you really need is a revision"  Whether she does or not - you don't have the background to know - none of the people on this board do. Anyone can re-gain no matter which surgery they choose and it's NOT common for an RnYer to regain ALL of their excess weight.  Regain happens, but not 100%. Not even according to the stats your own DS advocates frequently post.   It's the ALL that puts your statement out in lah-lah land.  Should I direct you to a post from your own board this past week about a 5-yr post-op DSer who is also struggling with significant re-gain?  http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/DS/a,messageboard/action,r eplies/board_id,5357/cat_id,4957/topic_id,3485944/page,1/#27 254898 What's your take on this person's issue - mechanical failure or inability to stay compliant?  Surely it "must" be mechanical, right? Or could it be compliance playing a role?  But if an RnYer experiences the same problem, it must always be mechanical, eh?  Nope. Many DSers are intelligent, researched, and well-intentioned folks - DS is a wonderful sugery with particular benefits the other options don't have - but every DSer is not an expert on what RnY is or isn't just from listening to other DSers' rhetoric - and if you want to join that category, you might want to reconsider your own exagerration here, whether you reply to me, block me, or whatever. You, Dreamy, can re-gain after having DS - and you're fooling yourself if you think you have an iron-clad guarantee not too.  No matter which surgery or method a person chooses - they have to follow protocol or they'll see problems. Period.  That's what every single one of us has in common - surgery is not a 100% lifetime cure for obesity, even if the DS has a better track record in terms of % of regain - I'm not here to say that it doesn't - that doesn't mean that 100% of DSers aren't going to re-gain significant weight if they don't pay attention to their intake.  And more to the point - it doesn't mean RnY has 100% regain in 100% of people 100% of the time!
