To make your incision heal better and faster use bandages with NEOSPORIN on them.

On my incision it would not heal in a couple of spots. I kept going to the doctor and he kept saying give it more time. I went back and he said the same thing again. This is frustrating. The incision line had like two little bubbles sticking up about 1 inch long and 1/4 inch protruding.

So I went to Walgreens and looked at all the bandages and my daughter said use Neosporin on the area not healing.

I FOUND that Johnsons and Johnson make an Adhesive Pads plus NEOSPORIN antibiotic.

Man the would is now healing so FAST. It is almost like healing overnight, but not that fast.

You might say just put Neosporin on a bandage. I tried that and it did NOT work as well as these.

I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD USE THESE.  PADS WITH NEOSPORIN ON THEM. IF YOU WANT TO HEAL FAST USE THESE.

I CAN'T BEGIN TO SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT THESE.

If you are having surgery or just had it USE THESE.  You will be very glad you did.

One caveat: about 15% of the population is allergic to neosporin. I sure the hell was! My hands looked like raw meat! When I finally went to the dematologist, she asked me how I got "the chemical burn on my hands, at work?"

Use this product, just keep an eye on your skin to look for redness and "burning."

One more point about using neosporin....after my tummy tuck I had a hole in my incision that was tiny, but the surgeon said to NOT use neosporin b/c it keeps the area wet, and she wanted me to keep it dry.  Just a bit of gauze over it each day after showers.  I would just be sure the neosporin is okay with the surgeon before going ahead with it.  Glad it's working for you though, Jim!

I just wanted to add to what Lori said - my surgeon said NO neosporin or anything like that.  That is was not good for the inital healing stage.

Just be sure to check with your surgeon and I am glad to hear it is working for you!

I am glad the product worked for you.  But I do not think recent post ops should put anything on their incision without the expressed consent of their surgeon.

Once I was cleared for normal showering and it was steristrips only and my Tube holes had healed closed, I used Neosporin.

I found a Neosporin Spray. I just misted my tummy after it had dried after shower time, daily.
It was really nice because it didn't leave a big goopy pile...It sort of dried on contact.
It was in a checkout station at walmart. Hooks onto keychains for easy usage. I bought two.
They don't last long, my belly was big! LOL

EDITED to ADD:
I had Lap surgery with only 4 small incisions and the two tube exit holes.
I agree that surgeons' recommend outweighs anything. Especially when it comes to wound healing.

The instructions given me were "no Neosporin because it can actually create a layer of bacteria,"  but I was told using antibacterial soap in the shower was fine.  I have been laying a coating of antibacterial soap on my lap incision and letting it there for a while before rinsing it off.  I wonder if what is on the bandages is ointment-based.  That might make a difference. Can you tell me James, do the pads seem greasy?

Many people like me are seriously allergic to adhesive tape.  Don't think that the adhesive pads with Neosporin would work for us.

Better to use hypoallergenic tape or bandaids instead.
