Aldi sugar-free popsicles

Just wanted to let the pre-ops know that Aldi has yummy sugar free popsicles, and they are under $2.00 for a box of 24.

I just picked up 2 boxes for my post op time; I wonder how many will be left in 5 weeks (after my kids get into them).
Blessings,
Mindi

Double check for 'sorbitol' in those - or xylitol or even maltitol.  Sorbitol is in a lot of sugar free stuff (even if the front of the box says 'splenda' they often have both).  Sorbitol in larger doses is used as a laxative for normies and for us post-op, is a total nightmare.  I had diarrhea for two days straight about a week out of surgery and got dehydrated, all from eating the SF popsicles.  Hopefully they don't, but be SURE and double check.  Most of us can't use any 'itols' after surgery.

If they do, just enjoy them BEFORE surgery.  Immediately post-op you're getting so few calories you're better off, in my opinion, with the full sugar popsicles than something that is going to be hard on your tummy.

Thanks for the reminder!  I remember when you had your "Eureka!" moment of discovery this summer.  I made a note of it, but have just started to review all the stuff I've saved and haven't gotten to it yet.  I have a problem with sugar alcohols NOW, so I figure it goes without saying that I'd better keep an eye out for it afterwards!

SF popsicles were a life-saver for me as an early post-op. I had no problem with the sugar alcohols, thank goodness - I hope you can tolerate them too. Good luck with your upcoming surgery!

Hi Mindi!  Let us know what the box has to say about those sugar alcohols.  Want to get moving after surgery, but think I'll stick to walking as opposed to having to make a run for it after my popsicles!
