Hi Guys, so I bought this yummy pumpkin soup in a bag type mix from World market last week and made it last night, it was so good!! anyway, all you had to add was some heavy cream and butter and I chose to add a little garlic and curry poweder, boy was this stuff yummy.
I went to the bathroom a record 6 times in the night and just for the heck of it I stumbled on the scale this morning and I was 4lbs lighter!! That stuff is my new "pipe cleaner" if you know what I mean.

I have some leftovers in the fridge but I think I might wait a day or so to have anymore in case my poor bottom thinks I am playing a nasty prank on it lol!! I guess the heavy cream works to clear me out eh?? lol

Before you eat the leftovers, you might want to boil them for several minutes, just in case the diarrhea was caused by food poisoning.

The soups sounds good. I bake with a lot of pumpkin and love cream cheese icy on top or all of it. Bread, muffins, roll, cookies, it seems to me with pumpkin I get fuller than just eating white cake or regular cookies. I thought you have been eating heavy cream in your drinks. Do you think it was the cream or the pumpkin? Karen

That soup sound GOOD!

I would love to find something that works like that for me!  I have the completely opposite problem - so a good cleaning out from time to time would be very awesome!  Send me some of that soup, girl!

I've had diarrhea from orange starchy veg too-- sweet potatoes, stuff like that.  I vote it was the pumpkin, not the cream,

Check the ingredients on the soup mix. There is probably some ingredient such as white flour or something that caused the diarrhea.

I had found this wonderful chicken corn crab soup at Whole Foods when I had moved into the 3rd phase of my post-op diet. It was delicious and I could consume large quantities of it and it had a lot of protein. Well I wash ****tin my brains out! I gave up going back to bed and went to sleep on the pot!

Turns out they used a white flour and I can't remember what else, that was the culprit behind the killer gas and the non-stop runs!

Pre-op I was using this delicious Bear brand chili and a cheddar potato soup mix. I took one look at the bag, post-op, saw all the flour ingredients and knew it was a no go!

That being said I have also found when I eat something that gives me a wicked case of the runs I will lose 3-4 lbs. But sometimes that is short lived because that is mostly liquids which the body replaces in a few days.

Hey GUys, I asked the man in my life if his tummy had been OK after eating the soup and he said it was fine, so I guess food poisoning is not it. Anyway, I had the soup again last night and it had exactly the same affect on the bowels. I am still unsure whether there was any flour tyoe ingredients in there as I had already thrown out the packaging. Anyway, I guess I will just have to have somethign else with pumpkin in it to see if it is that or the cream. Butternut squash or sweet potato doesnt have any affect on my tummy though?? oh well, never mind, I enjoyed the soup ans I am now 135lbs and holding, so therefore as it is Friday and I am slightly below my ideal weight, I can have some carbs over the weekend lol!! its a win-winn!!
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Pumpkin is an excellent source of fiber. It's what i give my rabbit when she has hairballs- goes right through her. Could have the same effect on you.
