Hi my fellow Dsers,

I am wondering if anyone have tried the Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60, protein drink/mix from GNC.

I am wondering if this is good source of protein, or if you all have any thoughts on it.

Please let me know.

Thanks!

It isn't whey isolate powder (contains soy as well) and it is only 76% protein. You can def. find better. :)

 LOL. You don't have to return it. :) Not everything is perfect and you don't have to use the "best" products each and every time.

NOW Foods has several whey protein isolate powders that I like.. When assessing protein powders look for a product that contains a microfiltered whey protein ISOLATE powder with a high level of branched chain amino acids (leucine, isoleucine and valine). You also want to compare the amount of protein per serving.

For instance:
If 1 scoop =   25 grams of protein and 26 grams of powder
Then 25/26 = 96% pure protein.

 I like the Max Protein Chocolate flavor from GNC.  I tried to find it on their site to add a pic but couldn't find it.  This is the only powder protein I use!

Even though I am still preop I tried and LOVED the Wheybolic. I was sad that it wasn't 100% whey Isolate.

GNC now has a new brand called About Time. I want to try it. They have a Birthday Cake flavor that I thought may be good. Here is the nutritional info.

I like the Birthday Cake About Time pretty okay, but while I would tell you it has a SUBTLE flavor, somebody else (Like Jilly!) would tell you it has NO flavor.  So - meh.

But all of the About Time's are very pared down - ingredient wise and good for folks who may be allergic to some things.

You can call them and ask for samples, if you order from their website, its 2 bucks a sample with no shipping, but you can only get 2, if you call them, you can get more than 2.  Course netrition.com sells 7 serving sample packs of about time too - which is good for if you need to take it on the road!

My most favorite vanilla flavor is Optimum nutrition Cake Batter, but it only comes in 5 lb tubs, and so - its good to sample it before you pay for a 5 lb tub!  :}

About Time protein ROCKS!!! It is literally the ONLY protein shake that I can drink without problems. The birthday cake is very good so is the vanilla. You can go to tryabouttime.com and order a sample pack that contains various different flavors. I did not realize that GNC was now carrying the About Time brand...it is the best protien I have found.
