Swimming!

Hey, 2 weeks out tomorrow and Dr G said, once the steri strips were gone, I could indulge in some soaking and light floating around in our back yard pool.

It was 37 with humidity today (that's 99 F) for those who didn't get metric'ed. :)  Lovely breeze, lovely soak and yeah, I do feel my stomach muscles got "worked" even though I didn't do much more than gently swish my arms around.

Had 3 strips of bacon today for breakfast.  YUM!

The dark side IS good!!!

Pick your surgery first, then your surgeon. Not the other way around.
PS:... Potato chips should be a food group.

I'm tired of screwing with that damn health widget.

Did you have open or lap??
I will have open and I am planning to go swimming about 2 and 1/2 weeks after my surgery.

Lap band 4 years ago. Revised to DS 8-2-11

I had open surgery and was told I could get in the water once all the incisions were healed. What with drains, etc, it was about 7 weeks.

sounds like a great day, lap is a lot easier to recover than open as you know since you had the lapDS, so pool side came quickly for you..........

Mine was lap.  I've noticed this morning that one incision might not be totally healed (belly button)... it's a little pink this morning.  A bit of poly and I'll leave it dry up for a day or two before plunging again.

Funny, I noticed that even just floating around on a noodle was enough to make my "six pack - wishful thinking on my part ;)) feel tight.  It really shows you how much you use your stomach muscles, even when you don't think you're using them.

Quick edit: pink spot appears to be an ingrown hair.  Geeze :)

I envy you being able to swim! I had my hernia repair the 21st and have had the kids in our pond almost every day since, torture for me when it's hot out and I'm an avid swimmer!
