Panniculectomy Update
This is Heidi's daughter. Thank you to everyone who swung critters and said prayers. The sent mom home around 8 o'clock the day of surgery. They removed a little over 10 pounds of skin. She is having trouble getting her protein in. Water makes her nausaus. She is in quite a bit of pain but mostly from the drains. She is having trouble sleeping. Please keep critters in motion. Don't know how soon she will feel up to being on the computer.
So sorry to hear she's not feeling so well. Try to see if you can get an anti-nausea med called in. My PS prescribed me zofran just as a precaution, but I didn't need it.
I had horrid pain control as well...pain meds just don't work well on me, so just make sure she stays on top of the dosing, every 4 hours and keeps caught up so the pain never gets too bad.
And you need to force her to get some protein intake. If food isn't sitting so hot...protein shakes. This is very important for healing. Not getting protein in is going to prolong her misery.
It's possible to add benadryl to her nighttime ****tail too, to aid in sleeping.
Good luck to Heidi, feel better soon!!!
