Waiting For Approval with a Pre-op Lab Question

Good Morning Everyone,
I called my insurance company today and they have received my submission and have informed me that I should know in 3 to 4 days... My surgeons office is has put a preliminary date of August 8th (pending approval) of course... (My heart is pounding as I am typing this post)..

The question comes in... I know that once I received the approval I am going to have to go to my PCP for a release for surgery including blood work... Is it this time that I should request all the labs that I will need for the future as a baseline? 
I have a feeling that you will say yes... I want to make sure that I am thinking correctly....

Any thoughts or help for this NERVOUS Pre-op will really help!

Good luck. I know waiting is hard.

I had a list of pre-op things (labs, chest x-ray, UGI, and EKG) from the surgeon's office that I took to my PCP.

im pre op lapband revision also waiting insurance aprroval:) i compared my lab list from my Surgeon to Vitaladys list then asked my PCP to add the 3 labs that were missing. i was grateful the list was pretty complete to begin with but my PCP asst gave me a basic list and i had to call back and remind/request my surgeons full list. So if your list doesnt have about 20 things on it, it is not complete!!! haha

It was also recommended to me from becky that we should get a baseline dexascan (bone density)

No problem hun! I know how it feels going thru this revision process. Its daunting to go thru all the testing AGAIN and embarrassing to have to explain several time why you were not successful with the lapband and depressing to know you thought you had picked the right surgery years ago and frustrating to think you have lived with this crapband for 5yrs!!!

 

and now the anxiety having to wait, wait on insurance!
