Six months out and holy crap!
Six months ago I had my surgery and I have lost 106 pounds since then! I think that deserves a holy crap, don't you? I'm not gonna lie and say it's been easy, and I'll raise a ruckus with anyone who wants to tell me I took the easy way out! Undergoing major surgery and painful recovery is not easy. And it's not easy learning how to eat again. It certainly is not easy being around folks who eat like I used to. I don't find it easy to plan what I eat around where I will be or who I will be with when the consequences of my eating hit!
I guess the easy part for me is knowing I would make the exact same decision about weight loss surgery if I ended up in the way-way-back machine and had to do it all over again.
I love how I can reach all those personal bits I had such a hard time reaching before surgery! I love knowing I'm as clean as possible, no matter what restroom I have to use when the urge hits! I love being able to sit in any chair available in waiting rooms.
I have a long way to go to be as thin as I think I want to be, but I feel confident I will get there, and believing that after DS is the EASY part!
