Late but 3 years post op and still going

I had my DS Dec 23, 2009, I am 3 years out, down 220 pounds.  I have been stuck at 220-230 for one year.  I loose a little gain a little but I stay in the range.

I upped my fat for the past 2 weeks and holy crap, today I am poooing orange slim.  So if you think its not working, up your fat and watch your intestines repell it lol.

So, with that said.  My DS still ROCKS!!!!

I would be dead if I had not had the DS and you can take that to the bank.  I am alive.  I walk 40 min 7/day a week even with back and hip issues.  I do what ever I want.  I do not live by the scale nor do I care what it says.  I live now.  Economy has put a ding in shopping for cloths but when I get to buy cloths, I look hot even at 225 pounds lol.

I was fortunate to get a panculectomy with an achor cut TT along with 9 hernias repaired so I have a flater than flat stomach and at age 50 almost 51 (March 31, I will be 51) I have female parts that look 16 (I had a good plastic surgeon with a good general surgeon) working on me.

I am alive, oh did I say I am alive and happy lol.

I want the whole world of obese ppl to get this surgery, espeically my boy but we can't afford it and our Aetna insurance does not cover it either so my son will have to try to loose another way.  He is over 380-400 pounds and I cry when I hear him stop breathing when he sleeps.  He visits me in Florida 1-2 times a year now.

So pray for my boy, and pray that others will get this miracle of a surgery.  Yes it has its price but dang it, I am alive.

Thanks for reading,

Carla, aka Wings.

Congrats and thanks for the tip (it's a timely reminder as I'm starting to plateau).  Sending up prayers for your son.  ((Hugs))

Thank you Huneypie,

Seriously, put cream in everything, eat real butter on everything, just increase fat on everything and that plateau will be gone.  I have dropped a few pounds in last couple weeks which everyone can see and I can feel it but I was not trying to loose lol.

Hang in there.  I am alive and I love life now.  Whereas before I set in a recliner waiting for death to come get me.

((hugs)) Carla kiss

Hey Carla,  I am 6 years out and trying to get my DS started again.  I initially went down to 190 (a 110 pound loss) but have rebounded back up to 230.  I started to closely follow a low card high protein diet but have not lost an ounce. As I have posted very discouraged.  How did you add fat to your diet.  Nothing seems to work for me and I still have old fat constipated lady poops.  So my DS is not working as it should.  What did you do.  I would give anything to have those great old weight loosing nasty poops again.

Thanks

Sue,

I started added my hazelnut sugar free creamer to my coffee with added heavy whip crm, then I ate salads drenched with ranch and cheese lol, then a baked potatoe everyday with a crap load of real sweet butter, full fat sour cream and AGAIN lol Cheese and lots of it.

It takes a couple weeks of doing this to get your poo moving.  I got constipated by the tramadol and percocet that I take for my hips and my back which is what started this.  I would have to take a hand full of stool softeners to help me then I would end up with diarrhea about the 3rd day after taking them so I took the old fashion DS way out lol.

Bacon is another good thing, but I can not chew it with my new horrible partials from Aspen Dental (another story for another day), so I had to do this through fat food. Oh and a Big Mac with extra sauce minus as much bread as you can get rid of.  And make sure you add a few hershey kisses so the sugar can give you alittle bit of runs.  See me and sugar are not friends at all.

Remember after a couple weeks of this, stay home and pass the orange slim.  Orange slicks mean you are not absorbing fat so I know that my DS is working.  Don't forget to excercise.

Hopes this helps you get the party started lol.

Hey Carla,  Thanks for the advice.  I have already shopped for more fatty things so I will keep on trying.  I noticed you are from Ft. Myers.  My parent live there in the winter, way too cold up here.

I hope your son gets all the help he needs to be successful in his weight loss. It is such a difficult thing.

All the best,

SUE
