Not Kayla B here, but waiting to hear what she says... assuming we mal-absorb it as we would any oil based product. Liked reading that every batch is tested and is free from the heavy metals.
Question: how does price of this product compare to Vitalady's Cromega Omega-3

I've not priced out anything.  It appears to be a tablet and not a gel cap so that is why I asked Kayla's opinion.

Becky, it looks like a dry form which is what we absorb best. But even then I suspect it would take a much higher dose for us to get full benefits.

It can't hurt to try it and may work. What will really tell is the lab values affected.

What labs show the amount of omega 3 or 6 in our diet?

Becky,

I just sent a message to Dr Elariny's dietitian about testing essential fatty acids as well. If there's a lab to see if it does us any good...that kind of thing.

Yah, my question exactly.  Thanks Gina.  I'm glad you have her as a resource.

I found this:

http://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/home/eng/fattyacid.asp

The Comprehensive Fatty Acids Test report includes 30 markers and total levels of saturated, monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, omega 3, omega 6, and fatty acids. The primary reason for this test is to determine if levels of essential fatty acids and other beneficial fatty acids are adequate. Additionally, peroxisomal and mitochondrial disorders of fatty acid metabolism can be determined. *This test is available only in the U.S. and Canada.

I really need to be taking it.  Of course Medicare won't pay for the test.  But if I can get an idea of what and how much to take from someone I will add it to my vites.  I think my brain needs it!!!!!

I've heard it's a pressed tablet, but these sorts of things are still oils.  So, I mean, you can add powdery stuff as much as you want to make it feel dry to the touch, but the fat is still there.  I mean, think of a buttery cracker.  Tons of butter in there, but there's so much flour added that the cracker feels "dry."  Does it make the butter easier to absorb?

And yes, there is an essential fatty acid panel.  I've had it done and I didn't get much out of it, other than some random fatty acid was low that I'd never heard of before and could never figure out a source to raise it... so, I didn't get that much out of it...haha.  You can also test triene:tetraene ratio which is supposed to give an idea of whether you are deficient or not.
