VLS#3 Is Amazing, But EXPENSIVE, Help!

I've been throwing down $60/month on VSL#3 capsules. Each capsule has over 100 billion live probiotic bacteria and it has to be stored in the fridge. I take two a day. They're the best probiotic I've found, but that's $720/year!!!

Have you heard of anything else out there as good as VSL#3... that's CHEAPER???

I've heard COSTCO carries it even in the powdered form. May be less expensive there...or maybe if you could get your doc to prescribe it and your insurance would cover some of the cost?  I'm totally sold on VSL#3; got have it!

Do you know if you can split a pack over a day or two or does the probiotic go bad once you've opened it?

I use a 1/2 teaspoon in the AM and a 1/2 teaspoon in the afternoon. I keep the partial packet in a insulated cool lunch bag during the workday. SO far, so good.

What difference you reap by taking such a high dosage of probiotic, does it eliminate your gas, or it prevents you from not going to the bathroom too much. 

For some reason when I take a high dosage I get constipated, does that happen to you?

It totally eliminates gas but I experimented with the dose to get it right for me. 

I'm enjoying a more natural path, whi*****ludes a heaping glob of coconut kefir every day and one bottle of apple-cider vinegar energy drinks.

 Try VSL#3DS it contains 900 billion CFU/sachet, it is RX only but in the end it comes out to be less than VSL#3 due to its strength.  I have been taking it for more than 2 years....yes it is amazing.

Unfortunately, I just started really getting into the higher dose of probiotic.  My benefit I see is my skin, acne, is much better. 

However what benefit you get with such a high dose of probiotic?  Now I would love to eliminate the gas I get in the evening, I guess from the accumulation of carbs..

Plus now that I am taking the higher dose of probiotic 25 billion, and 14 billion different brand, I tend to now always run to the bathroom.

However, when I take 25 billion twice a day I tend to get constipated.

You've got to experiment. We're all different. You're going about it the right way. Higher doses help me with gas and loose stool issues.
