Do the airport scanners detect DS surgery?

I travel several times a year. I'm ALWAYS stopped by the scanner with a blob area around my midsection. I years post construction and have stabilized weight wise. I'm just curious if other travelers have the same issue.

No problems here. I was always afraid they would catch the screws and rods in my lower back, but no trouble with anything so far.

PS I am now Pre TSA, so I don't usually have to go through the body scanner.

I was told that it often does weird things if people are wearing multiple layers or shapers or tucked shirts underneath sweaters, etc.

I fly pretty frequently and it has never been an issue. Good luck.

Yes!!! I have this EVERY time, big blob around my midsection on the scanner and i get patted down every time. Quite annoying. Im seeing others dont have this problem how are we the same? I did DS at 600 lbs and lost 100+ before tge DS so i have quite some skin hanging that has not been handled yet. Maybe others didnt lose as much and have huge skin?

My high weight was 380 lbs. and I'm currently 210 lbs. I have some loose skin. Enough that I'm having plastic surgery at the end of the month. We'll see if they solves the issue.
