Why isn't this working?!

I had lap band surgery in 2011 and my beginning weight was 277. I lost a grand total of 77 pounds. I am now back up to 218.

I want to have revision surgery but my doctor won't discuss it.

Don't beat yourself up! I've seen many people here get a revision from the band. Good luck.... I wonder if you could call a bariatric centre near you and see if they have any advice for you.  If you search for revision here though, you will also get lots of posts.

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

77 lbs lost and counting!

Losing the regain! I got this!

He probably wants you to try on your own to loose the regain first. If you are not having any complications with the actual band then go back to the basics that made you loose the first time. You still have your tool and you were successful with it before. What has caused your regain? Are you tracking your food? Exercising? An 18 lb regain really isn't enough to need a revision.

Find another doctor.  I had to go out of state for a revision because none of the local doctors wouldn't do it. ( truth is none were experienced with revisions) .  I had a revision, because my band broke, but not before it tortured me for 7 years.

I would look into another Dr. who is familiar with revisions.  I haven't heard of many long term successful stories with the lap band.
