Start now making healthy food choices! Limit calorie intake, fat, sodium. High protein, low carbs, etc.

I was on a 1500 kcal/day diet for my 3 month supervised diet and have lost 31 lbs since starting that program on May 13. My loss has slowed some since the dietician supervision ended and I've found it very easy to cheat, but I'm still losing.

As for exercise, it doesn't matter how you move your body right now, just that you DO move! 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 days a week.

Keep in mind that many things are considered exercise. Housework like washing dishes, sweeping and mopping, vacuuming, dusting, etc. If you break a sweat doing it, then you're burning calories! Yardwork like mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, etc. is also exercise! And if all else fails, just go out for a walk! It doesn't have to be a speed walk. Even light exercise counts especially if you've been pretty sedentary until now!

Best of luck to you! It's not impossible! I have faith that you can do this ;)

Thanks girl! Yeah, I've def been keeping an eye on what and how much i'm eating. I've also been exercising everyday. If not high velocity, then i just walk for 20 minutes. Im just scared because my body hasnt allowed me to lose weight all these years with diet and exercise, so, i'm afraid that measly 5-10 lbs is going to haunt me.

as a pre-op I worked on a reward system.  If I exercised for 30 min (or more) 3X/week for a month I got myself a predetermined present - The first was a popcorn maker.  Something I wanted, cost more than $10, but less than $30.... and every month I "earned" something.  I tried to make it something that was health/fitness related as time went on.  New workout gear, etc.

I also started trying to avoid fried foods and white carbs.  baby steps.  I didn't give up everything all at once, that felt like deprivation, but every couple of weeks add a healthy thing, take away an unhealthy thing.
