Hi, I am 4 months Post-OP lapband to RNY,The doctor says I  am doing good I have lost 35 lbs I wi**** was more, but they say you lose slower after a revision.

So I have decied to set a goal to run a 5K, I just stared about  3 weeks ago, taking baby steps. For those who do not know  for the first week you walk (brisk) for 5 min, then run for 60 sec, walk for 90sec and there are 8 interval to that so far I am able to run 4 of them for the full 60 sec without stopping before the time is up. I know its a smal accomplishment,  but I am so proud of me...YAYYYYY ME!!!!!

I am think about going to Run with my daughter in April, down in NC. Little scared that I  may not be ready. Also after I do the 5k training which takes about half hour. I walk for another hour so that I am getting in a hour and a half of excersie, do at least 4 to 6 days a week.. I will let you know when I move on to week 2, also I will tell you if i real push to run in April down in NC

You are doing a great job!  Congrats!  I thought I'd never make it to the end, but I did.  Now I still still walking breaks in nearly all my races (even 5k).

Definitely find a goal 5k to sign up for.  Even if you only run half of it, it just gives you a time to beat the next time!
Read my blog, BARIATHLETE   I run because I can.

I am a proud C25K Failure, but have proven to myself that if you stick with something and work for it anything is possible.

When I started it took everything I had to walk/run 3 miles.  I kept at it and worked and now my most enjoyable runs are 10 miles or more.

If you believe in yourself and work your plan you can and will accomplish this. Don't do it for time and don't let your worries about time or being last keep you from participating.  Have fun and amaze yourself.

Go for it.  That's how I started running last Summer.  Made it up to 6 miles.  Ran a 5K in October.
I slacked in November and December, and am now back up to 5 miles.  I think it will be a couple
more weeks before I hit 6 miles again.

Sounds like the April run will be fun.  Lots of people walk during part of their run.  It's okay.  At least you are out there trying.
