bodies have memory!

So, I haven't run much at all since Goofy in January.  I have gone to the gym rather irregularly and gotten on the stationary bike, but I was purposely not running, to give my body a rest.

This week is my week to get back into the swing of things.  I've got an event in May to prepare for, plus the fitness challenge at work started, and I like to be a good team member.

Tuesday I planned to do a 4 mile walk outside, which I did and felt good.  I powered through it and got it done in a hour.  Yesterday I was planning on running, but I forgot my gym bag at home, and it was gonna take up too much time to go get it, so I put on my old running shoes that I keep in the office and went for a walk. My quads had been sore all day, so they remembered Disney. ;)

As I walked, I kept feeling the urge to run, like I wanted to take flight.  And that's when I remembered why I love to run.  It's that feeling that my body has learned - it can float when I run, and it knows I can do it.

I can't wait to get home at a decent hour today and get out there.  I'm gonna take flight on one of my usual routes and see how it feels to know "I'm back"!!!
