A Little Tri Yesterday To Kick-Off The Season...

Whats up yall! Been MIA for a week while my wife and I enjoyed a trip to Florida WITHOUT the kids! Got back on Saturday and had a race on Sunday. It was miserable! It was 40*, pouring down rain, and over half the field 1st timers. It WAS supposed to be 300M Swim, 12 mile ride, and 5K... Before the race started they announced that because of conditions, they were making the bike a single loop of about 7 miles.

The Swim was OK... A little congested, but got done in under 5:30 with the run out from the pool.

The bike sucked! People were falling over rounding the slick wet corners on the bike. I was driving Mrs. Daisy with my speed around the corners, almost coming to a stop at each one, but I didn't fall :). I averaged 19.5mph and with the crappy conditions along with some good hills, I will take it.

The run was ok, but I couldn't breath very deep because it felt like my lungs were on fire. I def had more in the legs and in the tank, just couldn't catch the lung capacity for whatever reason. Anyways, 5K time was 23:45 with a 7:40 p/ mile pace.

Nothing incredible with my times, but had a lot of fun despite the conditions. The off-season really sucks so I was happy to be racing! Total time was 52:28... A lot of fun and decent enough to take 3rd in the big uns. Have an awesome evening ya'll!

Those conditions, I'd have a hard time dodging all those bodies sliding all over the place. Congrats on a great race and another podium finish!
