What to take for stuck food beside papaya enzyme?

Good morning everyone, I don't post very often, but am on this board several times a day and I love the advise that people give so I am hoping that I can get some. I have a problem when I have something stuck.  Many people advise using papaya enzyme that it works great for them, however, the only thing it does for me is make the stuck food come up .  I remember once reading about how lemon juice could also be used but I have the same results.  I have had a revision and am trying to not put too much stress on this band but basically, stuck does happen sometimes and I need to find a way to deal with it without the food coming back up which is not good.  Now, this does not happen everyday or every week, but I would rather it not happen at all.  I appreciate any advise, Blessings, Flower Child

My surgeon has a recipe involving meat tenderizer mixed with water and, I think, something else.  I've never used it. Want me to see if I can find it?

I went to a RNY support group one time and they were discussing what they call "Bariatric Drano". It's meat tenderizer and a little water. It's not pasty though. I guess it just helps break the food up a little bit more so that it can move through. I don't know as I'm not banded yet, just passing some info along. Hope it helps.

Here it is. Like I said, I have no experiece with it, but it's what my surgeon's practice suggests.

Anti-Blockage Recipe

Reasons for vomiting include: eating too fast, over-eating, eating foods too large or bulky to pass through the dime-sized intestine and being intolerant to a certain food, especially breads, heavy meats, or bulky vegetables.

If you develop vomiting or retching due to food that seems lodged in your stomach, try one of the following remedies:

  • ½ tsp. Adolph’s Meat Tenderizer
  • 1 tsp. Lemon Juice
  • 4oz (½ cup) Tap Water
  • Mix well. Sip over one hour
