Albuterol..Is it an NSAID

I get so confused when it comes to meds because I have never taken many.  I apparently have mycoplasma (walking pneumonia) I can't stop coughing and it leads to what seems like an asthma attack.  I was given an Albuterol inhaler and it just occurred to me that it may be an NSAID.  Is it?  I am taking an anti-biotic, a cough medicine and then the inhaler.  I can't tell much difference when I do the inhaler.  This is wiping me out, and I am soooo sore.  I hold on to my port every time I cough because I hate disturbing that area with my hacking.  I probably would not have gone to the Dr. pre-band for coughing, but I was coughing to the point of throwing up and I panicked that I would cause my band to slip.  This is the only time I get frustrated with the band, because I have to worry about EVERYTHING, every move I make and cough I cough.

Albuterol is not an NSAID.  You're safe with Albuterol.  Feel better!

I had that same ? last week.  I asked my surgeon and the inhaler was fine for me.

Albuterol is a bronchodilator.  Shouldn't hurt your stomach.

Albuterol is the opposite of an NSAID - NSAID stands for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, and albuterol is a steroid.

Albuteral is not a steroid, it is a bronchodilater.

It's actually NOT a steroid.  It's a bronchodilator...absolutely no steroid effects.

My bad.  The steroid inhalers are flovent, azmicort, etc.  They're used preventively - i.e., you take them every day.  Albuterol is in fact a bronchdilator.  But it's still not an NSAID.

Sorry, I just read this post and saw that you realized it's not a steroid.  Yup...those other ones are.
