Hi all,
I am sure this question has been asked a zillion times, but always when i am not around.  i am starting on my soft food phase which i will be on for 2 weeks before i go onto solids.  Does anyone have a list of soft foods that they could eat?  I am looking for different ideas so that i do not get bored.

So far i have the following:-
Stewed fruits
Baked potato
Mashed potato
smoked salmon
scrambled eggs, but not any other types of eggs????
Vegetables as long as they are pureed??
Anything else???
I have gained and lost the same ten pounds so many times over and over again my cellulite must have déjà vu.

Looks like your soft foods might be different from what mine are.  Yours may be more mushy - I am on soft foods now and it is basically anything you can cut with a fork, so I do a lot of crock pot meats, meatloaf, etc.

If you're talking more about mushies - you might look at doing some things with refried beans.  I layered refried beans with salsa and cheese and baked it.  Mixed cottage cheese with parmesan cheese and herbs and layered it with spaghetti sauce and cheese and baked it.  Soups - I would add a bunch of different things to chicken broth - refried beans, chicken spread.  I found that Cincinnati chili has a very fine texture that worked well - I can find it in the store from Skyline Chili.  I lived off that for a few days!!

I started to get very creative!

The following should be fat/sugar free

ricotta cheese

natural (no sugar added) applesauce

pudding

Greek yogurt

Creamy soups made with Skim (plus) milk

Farina made with Skim (plus) milk

IMHO I would stay away from the potatoes – but if your Doctor said it’s ok, then do it.

I went an searched on line for some other suggestions, hope this helps

You could steam some veggies like carrots and mash them with a fork ...

I also had turkey meatballs..mashed w/fork

As you can seee,  anything I could mash w/a fork was ok by my surgeon.   I got very creative....but soups are still the best bet.

Also, anyway you want to prepare your egg is fine, lots of people have issues with eggs, I only can tolerate egg whites scrambled.

Beginning a new life...one pound at a time...

FF Plain Greek yogurt with fruit.
SF pudding
Soups pureed
Chicken, tuna or egg salad made with LF or olive oil mayonaise.
baked yam or sweet potato.  (better for you than white potatos).
