Has Anyone Tried Isopure ReadyTo Drink?

Hi,

I had my LapBand back in 9/2005 and lost over 100 pounds. I slowly started eating more and more, and gained back about 55 pounds. I just had a fill this past Friday and may be too tight now. I have been having reflux and vomiting constantly since then. I thought it might have been just due to swelling and would resolve itself, but I'm going to call when the office opens to see if someone can remove some of the fill. Until I can see my doctor, I need protein.

I just bought some Isopure Grape Frost Ready To Drink the other day. I ended up pouring it out, because I saw things floating in the bottle. I just thought it was the protein, so I shook the bottle up. I then saw a quarter sized piece of cloudy white who knows what lift up from the bottom and float around. I have another bottle of it which also has cloudy stuff in it, but not as much as the other one.

Is the cloudy stuff normal?
What is that?
If it's the protein, do you drink (or eat) that?
If that cloudy clump is the protein and you don't consume it, how do you know how much protein you are getting?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I drank Isopure when on clear liquids and had the same experience.  I decided it was the protein and drank it anyway.  Don't know for sure but it didn't kill me.

I'm pretty sure its protein-all of mine are cloudy too although there are no clumps in them.  I love the grape flavor but I can't afford to buy them all the time.

Yep!  I'm an IsoPure advocate!  It's low cal and high protein, which is really hard to find in a protein drink! The cloudy stuff is the whey isolate protein.  Yes, it's normal.  You have to shake the s**t out of it to get to mix in.  Also, you HAVE to drink it cold....like ice cold.  You'll still be able to see tiny flakes of protein after you shake it up, but at least it's not chunky!  If you can stomach even the little flakes, try making a slushy out of them.  I use the IsoPure with ice and mix it up in my MagicBullet.  Very yummy!  You're going to want to drink as much of the stuff as you can stand.  I would have no clue how much protein you'd have if you didn't.  The longer they sit on the shelf, the more the protein will settle to the bottom.  They do expire, so make sure to check the date on the bottle.  Even though that's a pain, I do like that they don't have any preservatives!

I like all of their flavors except the iced tea one!  The green apple one is my favorite by far!

that is the protein - and it won't hurt you.

I understand that mixing the Isopure RTD with some Crystal Light makes it more palatable.
I have 3 bottles in my fridge that I can hardly stand to look at.

I think I am going to take them to my Support Group and see if anyone wants them --- they make me gag.

Hey Kath,
Try watering them down a little.  They do have a pretty weird after taste, but if you keep drinking them (even if it's one swallow here and there) you'll get used to them.  I hated them at first, but now I drink one every day!

They are high in protein and low in calories for sure but the smell and weird saliva-like consistency turns me off. When I was on clear liquids I used them. Definitely over ice. Has anyone tried to turn them into slushies (i.e. do they freeze?)

I make them into slushies in the blender, but I don't know for sure if they'll freeze.  I don't think I'd want to do that, though.  Glass bottles in the freezer sounds like a recipe for disaster to me!  LOL

the cloudy stuff is the protein, you got to shake it really well before drinking & just ignore the floaties.  I really like their flavors though & recommend it.
