Alot of times when I start a meal I feel VERY tight and wonder if it is going to just be one of those tight days but after going really slow and the first food moves thru it is like I loosen up and then it is pretty much fine?  Almost like the first few bites have to stretch open my pouch or something?

I experience some slight tightness in the mornings when I am not hydrated enough the day before.  So, I try to drink a glass of water before I go to bed (usually have to get up at least once during the night ANYWAY) and that seems to help.

Yes I feel that way a few times a week. Usually in the morning or if I just got up from a nap. It also happens if I have not drank enough fluids throughout the day and then take a bite. I don't know if we could be causing any problems or not.

Basically what everyone else said.
I know I'm usually tight in the mornings so all I have is some coffee in the AM.
Late morning I usually have a greek yogurt and by late lunch time is when I feel loose enough to have real food.
I stay hydrated all day for the most part but when I can't stay as hydrated as I would like to be, I tend to be tighter than most days the following morning so I hold off on having the yogurt and just have a clear protein drink or some decaf iced tea.

Take care!

I've been at goal (165 pounds) for 6 months now and now on maintence.  I tend to go up and down depending on time of the month and such!

Yes, this happens to me often. In the mornings, it still feels like this after a few bites, so I limit my breakfasts to softer foods, but can do an egg most days if eaten really slow.   I notice that I don't get this feeling much at lunch or dinner if I am very well hydrated. If I'm eating too fast, then I get it and have to pause (and put the fork down!) for a few mintues and then I'm fine.

It sure is a learning experience but after a year out I'm starting to feel like I've got the hang of it most of the time :)
