I love support from the oddest places.  I was in a car accident today due to the ice.  I was OK but banged up some.  I told them in the ER i was still fresh from lapband.  This one nurse checked me out and leaned over and told me she had lapband  a while ago.  She lost almost 200 lbs!!  She gave me a smile and held my hand and made me feel so comfortable with knowing that someone understood and was taking care of me.   Sometimes I feel like if I tell someone I had it then I get strange looks or get judged.  I didn't today.

That's awesome! I have been surprised that the reactions I get are generally positive. A lot of people say congratulations. I think no matter how we are doing it, we are ultimately getting healthy and that is certainly no reason to judge someone!

Good luck!

It is always awesome to see someone at the maintenance stage, and their words of support and encouragement are so great. I am very lucky to have a friend that just celebrated her 2 year anniversary and is off all her diabetes meds - and she looks beautiful!
