What is first bite syndrome?  Can it come on about the 3rd bite?  I get an "uncomfortable, and your done" feeling with dense meats (including fish), on or about the 3rd bite.  If I wait a few minutes and continue to finish my 3 oz, it usually goes away.

In my opinion, I think it's that some of us have tighter stomas.  Maybe the muscle pulls tighter or something? I am not sure.

My doc says that it is esophageal spasm. I think fish is very difficult to eat,

This happens to me sometimes.  It's when you take your first bite and you couldn't possibly be full...and you get the tightness and icky feeling you get when you ate too much.  I always just sit and wait like you do and it passes and I'm able to eat the rest of my meal with no problem.  I'm not sure why it happens or if it can happen on the 2nd or 3rd bites.

I sometimes have that too, especially if I'm stressed.  I do what you do---sit back and relax and then continue eating.
