Thiamin Deficiency (B1) on my blood tests

I just had my blood work done last week for my 11 year lapband check up. All the blood work was excellent except for Thiamin (B1). In doing some research on it, I discovered that the deficiency was the reason why I was having eye problems (blurry vision and muscle pains). Had been to the opthamologist in October and now I have another appt. 1/9).

I am 75 and am walking at least 3-4 miles daily. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you for any comments. Marti Peters

What have you found out about your Thiamine deficiency?

I am reluctant to attribute it to the band since there is no malabsorption.

I would recommend you follow up with your regular doctor to evaluate a complete blood count.

Let us know how things are going.
