Lymphedema is considered a "high-protein edema." These proteins collect in the tissues of the swollen area and can only be removed by lymphatic vessels. Decreasing dietary proteins will only make lymphedema worse so it is important to continue eating plenty of protein-rich foods.

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? I say, what difference does it make--I paid for a full glass,so either way I am getting jipped!!!

Thanks good info to know.  I thought maybe it was a reaction to eating more sugar than the first 2 years post surgery.  (My lymphedema has returned to my right leg)

Well I just wanted to update folks, I did increase my protein by including at least 1 protein shake a day and the result is ----my leg is decreasing again.  So Thank you so much for the information about proteins and lympnedema.  It seems to be working again......
