Sounds like he needs some psychotherapy first.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

My thoughts exactly...  Looking on the bright side at least he got laid!! Goes to show you that diets alone just don't work unless you can solve and conquer those inner demons.  I hope he can pull himself together and like others have said, maybe surgery is the answer for him!

If you can stay active after RNY, it shouldn't come back. Barring extreme grazing of carbs and especially sugar, I suppose.

This pretty much reaffirms the need for a rel psych evaluation and follow up...although my insurance did not require it at all, even those that do are little more than a rubber stamp process with no real long term care anticipated by either the physicians/therapists or the patients.

His problems are more in his head than in his gut.  I saw this guy on TV before and his journey was amazing, but it was so easy to tell that he really didn't know what to do in his new life.  He just followed what people told him to do.

He mentally wasn't ready for what his life would be like as he had only really lived one reality.  Not to mention he was then made in to a semi local celebrity.

He did it once and I believe he can do it again but he needs to get his demons worked out and decide what he wants out of his life.
